Wirecutter’s 5 Most Popular Picks in June 2019

Bath towels have given way to bug repellent.

The Frontgate Resort Cotton Bath Towel, our most popular pick in both April and May, was unseated from the most popular spot in June by not one but two insect repellents. I guess that makes it official: Summer is here, and mosquitoes are on the rampage. In that seasonal spirit, air conditioners, sunscreen, fans, and garden hoses are unsurprisingly high on our June leaderboard as well, alongside stalwarts such as routers, Lightning cables, nonstick pans, travel adapters, and robot vacuums.

Somewhat inexplicably, Wirecutter’s favorite business laptop shot up to the top five. This is, well, a little unusual. (Nothing says summer like business laptops, amirite?) We’re not sure what the cause was. If you happened to buy 1,700 Lenovo laptops this month, let us know so we can solve this mystery.

Also popular in June: bed pillows and travel pillows, surge protectors, detergent for hand washing clothes, air purifiers, electric toothbrushes, and (still!) umbrellas.
