Calling all hikers, backpackers, day adventurers: we need you!

Each year, The Trek lavishes some lucky upcoming thru-hikers with thousands of dollars worth of gear. This year, with the pandemic still throwing us curveballs, we’re switching things up.

What is the 2021 Badger Sponsorship

A massive gear giveaway totaling more than $20,000 worth of prizes!! And, best of all, it’s not just thru-hikers getting in on the fun this year.

Since the inception of this site, we’ve put on a giveaway aimed at helping aspiring thru-hikers complete their missions. At first, the prize package was modest, some stuff sacks, a signed book, and Badger’s phone number, which was in very low demand at the time (source: single women). Fast forward a few years and the prizes had grown to more than $10,000 worth of backpacking goods.

Now, with the COVID-19 pandemic still potentially putting the kibosh on thru-hikers, we’re flipping the script. You still get a chance at great prizes, but more importantly, you also help to raise a boat load of cash for the Partnership for the National Trails System. The PNTS is a 501(c)(3) that connects member not-for-profit trail organizations and Federal agency partners to further the protection, completion, and stewardship of the 30 national scenic and historic trails within the National Trails System.
